I have flat fine hair my biggest issue is keeping my hair clean looking with some bounce in it.  When Bzz Agent offered me the chance to review Got2b powder'ful I was excited.  I had Karaoke night and used this product to give my hair a little more volume.  While I did get more volume that stayed almost all night long it was not the picture on the box results.

Gluten Free Cosmetics list

Sorry this took so long to get out.  This type of list requires a lot of research.  While many products have one or two gluten free items, I was trying to focus on brands that are gluten free.  Since I am the only author of this blog it takes a while for me to get all the research done.  Here is the list of gluten free beauty brands! A few of these brands may contain corn products in the form of xanthan gum.  The X is what that brand makes.  Have fun, and remember to keep yourself looking great in a gluten free way!  Please contact me if you know of any brands that I have missed.  I would love to add them to the list.

Why you Need Gluten Free Beauty Products

Recently I was pitched (offered to review something) by a company making beauty products.  This was great except nothing they made was gluten free.  When I turned down the offer on the grounds that I have Celiac and couldn't use the product, I was given the reply "There has been no proven reaction to absorbed gluten and you don't eat your makeup."  This got me thinking.

Intense Grow Hair Vitamin- Introduction

One of my new year’s resolutions this year is to help grow my hair longer.  I would love to have it down to my hips.  Since I know I have a breaking point and I haven't found the shampoo that will help me, I was really excited when an opportunity for a 60 day trial of Intense Grow was offered to me.
This item is gluten free which is a must for me. It seems to be only vitamin and minerals aimed at the production of keratin, also used in hair and nails.

Here is what the company had to say about themselves.
“If you want to make your hair grow longer faster, the ingredients in Intense Grow™ vitamins will make your hair grow faster! Your body will get that extra boost of nutrition to optimize your hair growth speed; stimulating your hair to its maximum growth potential!”

This is done by maximizing the necessary vitamins and using herbs to stimulate the growth.  According to a few nutritionists, hair vitamins can work, but they have to be used with a healthy diet and schedule.  Since hair is an extension of the skin and body it should be treated as such.  And while most visible hair is in fact dead, it is the live hair or the first few millimeters that you are really nourishing.  The chore for the rest of the hair is to take good care of what you have.  Since hair cannot repair its self, you have to make sure it does not get damaged.  No hair vitamin can help you with that, but what it can do is help the hair grow thicker and a thicker strand may be less easily damaged.

A side benefit that many may see from a product like this is that it will also help stimulate nail growth as well as hair growth.  The reason for this is that hair and nails are made of the same materials.  So if you have ever felt jealous that a guy you know has better hair and nails than you, it is probably that his nutritional balance is better.  That balance can be aided by these vitamins.

So the trick to this formula is to balance out nutrition to the point where it is easier for your hair to grow.  My hair is my pride and joy; it is mid back, slightly wavy, naturally strawberry blonde (sometimes more strawberry, sometimes more blonde).  The down side to this however is that the hair is thin and in fact it tends to break a lot and doesn't grow very fast.  Each member of my household can grow hair twice as fast as I can.  To be honest I am envious of that ability.  However, they are all brunettes so it should be expected.
I need 5 inches to make my hair goal; if I can get at least 2 or 3 inches I will be very happy with this product.  Wish me luck!

Time to switch your beauty routine

With the changing of the clocks there is one more thing that needs to be changed.  Your beauty routine is no longer going to work as well in the coming months.  It is time to add extra moisture to your face, nails, body and hair.  The down side of this is that it is not always easy to find Gluten free products.  Now is the time of year to deep clean or replace all makeup brushes, throw out old mascaras, go through and get rid of expired makeup and alter the way you take care of yourself.

Winter brings around cold and dry conditions that can suck the moisture out of you both inside and out.  The easiest thing to winterize is your diet.   Start including more oils and water in what you eat and drink.  You need to consume just a little more on the oils and at least one more glass of water a day.  The hard thing to do is find products to help winterize the outside.  I have a few suggestions for you of gluten free products that might help you get started.

  • Dakota Free Baby Your Skin Balm: Started with Babies in mind, it is now used by many age groups it is a rich multipurpose cream that is best used as a night cream.  This cream contains no gluten, latex, fragrance and is lauded as vegetarian.
  • Keys Luminos Facial Moisturizing Therapy: This is a strongly hydrating moisturizer that has a good concentration of anti-aging ingredients.  This is gluten free, chemical free and also compleatly vegan.
  • Keys Solar Rx Broad Spectrum Sunblock: A sunscreen as well as a facial moisturizer.  This contains most of the same ingredients as the luminos but includes the sun protection.
