Restaurant Series #1 GoodieVille

Goodieville is located in Missoula, Montana.  Everything served in the restaurant is gluten free.  They do not use anything with gluten in it.  This restaurant is completely safe for those with Celiac.  While Gluten free restaurants are a new thing, this doesn't mean they are not starting to pop up.  Goodieville is the first completely gluten free restaurant that I have been to.  I was so excited to go and have lunch at this location.

It has been so long since I have been able to sit down and have anything off the menu without altering it or ordering off of a greatly reduced menu.  Now when I went last week, they only offered breakfast and lunch.  However, they had a great menu.  The breakfasts included pancakes and biscuits.  The lunch included pizza, sandwiches and even chicken strips.  They even have a gluten free bakery!  Don't eat meat or anything that comes from an animal?  That's fine, they offer vegetarian and vegan selections as well.

However, I was just looking up their restaurant and found that they are now offering dinner selections. This includes appetizers, fried chicken, country fried steak and even Indian food selections.  I am going to miss this restaurant when I leave the area and go back home.

Now all of this is great, but really no restaurant would be complete without a review of the food.  I ordered a child's sized pizza and some blueberry pound cake.  I loved the pizza, it had a soft thick crust with little to no gluten free aftertaste.  The cheese and pepperoni were perfect.  Again, if you are vegatarian or Vegan they have you covered.

As for the pound cake it was good and sweet, a little on the crumbly side, however, that is part and parcel of being gluten free.  It ended up being too rich for me to finish.  One of my friends had to help me out.  They didn't seem to mind.  Also they didn't say anything about it being or tasting like it was gluten free.  A success in my book.

This is a great place for those with Celiac or any type of gluten allergy.  If you are ever in the area, I would give this location a shot.
