Country Bob's Review and Shredded Beef Recipe

I recently received two bottles of Country Bob's Original sauce to review.  After trying it on fries, shredded beef and meatloaf I have to say that I love this sauce.  Country Bob's is Gluten free and has always been that way.  That is why I was more than willing to give this sauce a try.

Ingredients list pulled from the web site are
Tomato concentrate, (tomato paste and water), vinegar, sugar, high fructose corn syrup, molasses, corn syrup, salt, onion powder, caramel color, garlic powder, tamarind, corn starch, natural flavors, and other spices.

It looks to be safe for my types of food allergies.  Also since they only make sauce there is little chance of cross contamination.

There are 20 calories per serving and slight more sugar and carbs than in ketchup.  Each bottle comes with about 20 servings.  I ended up using a lot more than one serving on just about everything but I tend to do that with condiments.

If you are looking for a Safe Gluten Free alternative to BBQ sauces or steak sauces this would be a great way of doing it.

It tastes like a mixture of A1, Worcestershire sauce and BBQ.  It worked well on everything I put on it.  We loved it on the shredded beef sandwiches so much that I decided to share the recipe. If you want to give this recipe a shot I will be starting a giveaway on Friday for a bottle of Country Bob's All purpose sauce.  There will be TWO winners!

Country Bob's Shredded beef sandwiches

Ingredents
The finished product

1 boneless beef chuck roast (3 pounds)
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) GF beef broth
1 medium onion, sliced
1 cup Country Bob's All purpose sauce
Season salt
pepper
1 bay leaf
8 to 10 GF buns

Meatloaf

  • Place the roast in a Crock Pot; add broth, onion, Salt, pepper and bay. Let it cook for 6 to 7 hours until the meat is tender.
  • Remove roast and cool slightly; shred meat with two forks. Strain vegetables and set aside. Skim fat from cooking liquid and reserve 1-1/2 cups. Return the meat, vegetables and reserved cooking liquid to the pot.
  • Stir in the Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce simmer for 30 minutes or until heated through. Discard bay leaf. Serve beef on buns. Have more sauce available so that it can be added to taste.
