Back to School Food Allergy Summit

Food Allergies have been a known issue for a while.  Believe it or not, I have other allergies other than Gluten; I also cannot eat Sodium Nitrite/Nitrate.  This means that I have learned to be more aware of allergies than many since mine are so hard to avoid, but none of my allergies are immediately life threatening.  This is the case with some school children.  Knowing that your school is ready for the school year and the allergies of your children is important.

In this vein, there will be a Food Allergy Summit on August 20, 2013 at 6:30pm located at 1200 N. Battlefield Highway Chesapeake VA.  

I will be attending to learn more about other allergies and I would love to meet a few of my readers.  So if you live in the Virginia area and can attend this Summit I would love to see you.  The Event is free!

Also there will be a Fare Walk for Food Allergy Nov 2, 2013 at 9:00AM located at MT. Trashmore (310 Edwin Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.

Battlefield Blvd., the bakery’s Chesapeake location. This free event is designed to bring food allergy experts together with educators and families in one place, to compare notes before the school year commences. 

          Guests will hear about the latest food allergy issues, while sampling great-tasting allergy-aware products from local restaurants.

14 Days of Romance -Day 6-

For Day 6 we are going back to something that costs you nothing but time and energy.  Today's challenge is to do your loved ones chores.  For example if she does the laundry and the dishes then you will do it.  If he clears the table and takes out the trash then that is what you need to be doing.  Let them relax while you do the chores for them.

ReCards-Review

For those of you lucky readers with an Ipad there is a new app out called Recards.  Here is the skinny according to them

Recards lets you create and email personalized voice recorded music cards right from your iPad. Just choose one of the six custom made Christmas beats, record your greeting, then customize it with beautiful artwork and with a few taps your music card is on its way to your loved ones.

What I found, they had some great music but nothing I was really looking for.  However, they did have some really pretty backgrounds for cards.  I know it is late but the Christmas section was really nice.  They could stand to expand a bit before I would use them for everyday.  However, the idea is a good one.  You record yourself and send a much more personalized e-card.

A Gluten Free Cook Book for Free!

 I ran across something that I had to share. But before I do I need to mention the level of sexy that I have managed to achieve.  I am currently wearing neon Halloween socks, a light blue and monkey printed pajama bottom, a pink t-shirt, a light cream bathrobe and a Betty Boop pink hoodie with my hair in a low pony tail.  The reason for this is that it is cold and I am lazy but I thought I would let you know, this was mentioned since it was a great amount of fun to those living in my house.  Thanks guys, I love you all so much.

Cookbook Ebook by Enjoy Life Foods

Now for the important part a free gluten free cookbook, this cookbook had a lot of fantastic recipes and I can't argue with the price.   I am looking forward to making doughnuts, and Whoopie Pies, the picture I am using is from the cookbook. The good news is that if you have other allergies you can still use this cookbook.  It accounts for seven other major allergens.   This means if you have an allergy to Gluten, Wheat, soy, eggs, dairy, nuts, tree nuts, fish, shell fish and oats then you can use this book.  Personally I will be using this for candy making for the holidays as well as a few other great ideas.  There are recipes in here that I will have to make my own version of and see how well they turn out.  I really want to thank Enjoy Life Foods for putting this out for everyone who has these types of allergies.  Even if some of the recipes do call for their products.  You can find this free cookbook by clicking the link Enjoy Life Foods.
